What optional extras can I add to my Aviva home insurance policy?

Aviva offers a range of optional extras so you can tailor your home insurance to your personal needs. 
 
  • Legal services cover - up to £100,000 of legal services funding for you and your domestic partner and any other family members that reside at the same address. 
  • Home emergency cover - up to £1,000 cover for labour, parts and materials if you lose essential services such as heating or power. Also provides you with up to £1,000 cover for hotel accommodation if your home is uninhabitable whilst being repaired. 
  • Personal belongings cover - covers your personal items whether you’re at home or away in the UK or anywhere else in the world. Includes cover for items with a single article limit of £2,000, personal money up to £750, credit cards up to £1,000 and theft from an unattended vehicle up to £1,500, provided the items were secured out of sight. 
  • Pedal cycle cover - all cycles are covered whilst at home under Aviva’s standard contents insurance, however, additional pedal cycle cover covers bikes used by you and your family members anywhere in the world. Select your own level of cover between £300 and £3,500.
  • Accidental damage cover - Aviva offers two levels of accidental damage cover;

  • ‘Limited’ cover - For buildings insurance, this provides cover for accidental damage caused to any fixed glass, sanitary fittings (such as your bathroom sink), cables and service pipes. For contents insurance, this provides cover for accidental damage caused to non-portable home entertainment equipment, mirrors and glass in furniture. 
  • ‘Extra’ cover - For buildings insurance, this provides cover for accidental damage to the rest of your home. For contents insurance, this provides cover for accidental damage to most of the belongings in your home.
